About Sisters of the Sound

In the mid 1980’s and 90’s, eight women, by chance, found themselves deposited in Anchorage, Alaska. Every few years their lives had been uprooted from their communities, having to leave friends behind. These women were military wives, constantly searching for something or someone with which to identify. Even though the military in general has the reputation of a tight-knit community, these individual women required more than the average Wives’ Club could offer.
